Global Dimension

Europe

Think Global maintains a European presence through its role in the Development Education Exchange in Europe Project (DEEEP). DEEEP has a small secretariat in Brussels, and Think Global is a founding partner of the project and one of the managing partners.

DEEEP aims to strengthen the European policy framework in relation to education about development and globalisation. It also aims to strengthen the capacity of NGOs in Europe in educating citizens about development and global issues.

DEEEP led a unique consensus building process amongst a range of European stakeholders which led to the European consensus on Development: the contribution of development education and awareness raising'.

There is also another European network called Trialog whose aim is to raise awareness of development issues in the enlarged EU.

Think Global also manages a European Commission- funded capacity building (ECCB) project working with nine organisations in the UK to develop the community cohesion agenda, both locally and regionally.

Think Global's annual ECCB newsletter contains case studies about the work of the nine projects involved.
